Treadmills are safe at home with children?

I do a treadmill. With the sad accident in the home of Tyson, I wonder what type of tape you have? What made unsafe? Somehow I dare ask these questions as the loss of her child is so sad. But if the danger of a treadmill particular model is known then the homes can be safe for our children. Do any of the news articles which function in the tape was dangerous in small? ~ Candice

Treadmills should contain a "key" that must be connected to or attached to the wheel in order to ensure operation. No key, no function. The key must be kept out of reach of children so that you can not accidentally activate the treadmill. Most people attach the loop to themselves when they are on tape so if you fail or fall, the key is off and stops the treadmill, prevention injury. This treadmill has a magnetic field% key http://treadmillscentral.com/images/Tunturi 20Treadmill% 20T20% 20Console.jpg. I think what happened to the girl Tyson was that the key was a string loop and his head was caught in the loop. My tape has a magnetic key (with a loop, unfortunately). But I have no children in my house.
