This time of year when it is more difficult to remain focused on our goals. It is also the time of year when we are all in a race to make new ones.
I think we all have a certain ideal, a way of life, which is completely blown each holiday season.
We believe it is more difficult to stick to a well-balanced diet because each time As we look around, we met with a truffle. Whether the house is in ruins of dirty dishes, accessories for gift wrap and foil and droppings pine needles, or we're not even at home. We are out of our routine. Our mind is talkative. Our bodies are in crisis mode, searching in vain for some broccoli and a treadmill.
I would suggest that this is not the ideal time of year for any serious consideration and determination.
During the holidays, we're buried up to his neck in "shoulds" and "should nots." We should not Aunt Snappy Bernice. We should not eat the cream sauce on many of our vegetables. We should be spending at least an hour a day at the gym. We should be able cross this holiday season with joy in our hearts and not feverish impatience, just try to put too much from two weeks our lives.
It seems that most new year resolutions are cleverly disguised "should". And who needs more of those now?
In fact, this year, for me, there will be a paring down, not a constitution, should. During the past month, I saw closely examined the list of duties collected to determine who belongs there and who (by kindness and gentleness and plain and integrity simple personal) do not.
It began with a slow day, a day when I asked all my assumptions. Before I jumped something in my mouth, I asked myself if I loved her taste, or if I just used to it. If I were hungry or simply bored or frustrated or unhappy.
I walked into my house, taking a look long and deliberate in furniture, decoration and ornaments to see if I really liked them and if they served some sort of significant effect.
Then I took the same eye to my list of should. The experience was rather liberating. In an attempt to adopt an unbiased perspective and ask: Do I really like that? Is it really good for me? Is it really important to me?
At the end of such day, I asked the honesty of myself as I replied: What I really value? What is most important to me? How important is my spirituality, my family, my professional identity?
So I created two mission statements, one for me and for my work. Who am I? Who am I to be?
This is a Such wonderful instrument to clarify your purpose in life. Your mission statement may include your values, your priorities, your philosophy, your commitments, your goals. How you want your children to live? Do you live in such a way?
It allows you to identify and define your philosophy of life. Your spiritual beliefs. What you will find useful. What you find beautiful.
When you set the final result, you have something to visualize. You have a final result. I found it easier, throughout my life, to hold an ideal of how I want things to be, then get all the details. They do care of themselves if given the chance.
All you need do is concentrate on the final result. What kind of life do you want? What kind of person would you be? See what this person looks like, how they behave and what kinds of things they do on a daily basis. When you can keep the vision of this person in your mind, you will find it easier to say no to anything that betrays this image as it comes into your life.
When you write such a statement, made in the present. Sign the declaration in bold ink and place it where you can read the beginning of each day.
Then wait for a re up you should. You may be surprised at the removal of some long-standing and familiar targets, and adding a few unexpected
new ones.
Try not to rush the process. Allow to grow organically from a study careful of your life and how you strive to live intentionally.
